Overview
Mission Brief As a Senior Program Manager in the Ground Systems Department at Isar Aerospace, you will be managing the establishment of new ground systems for the Spectrum rocket. Situated in Munich, you will be supervising the programmatic realisation of Ground System projects from initiation, through all engineering phases, construction and commissioning until the facility is handed over to the on-site operations crew. The multidisciplinary team you will be working with consists of highly motivated, mostly young engineers and project managers with an international background, fulfilling technical and co-ordinational roles in the project landscape. You will coordinate the overall programmatic road map of the ground infrastructure regarding timeline, costs, risks and top-level requirements with internal and external stakeholders, reporting to upper management.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Responsibilities
- Laterally manage multiple multidisciplinary, cross-functional project teams, covering several departments.
- Ensure project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation on the Ground System projects are aligned with the overall launch system targets and company goals.
- Report on project statuses to upper management regarding timelines, multimillion-euro budgets, and top-level risks.
- Identify, assess and mitigate technical, financial and operational risks for each project early and proactively.
- Collaborate with internal customers of the rocket systems to realise projects according to scope and timeline.
- Contribute to the establishment of new launch bases, international test sites or similar by working with HR, Supply Chain Management, Legal, Commercial and other departments.
- Setup and improve workflows, processes, and structures to expedite project execution in collaboration with project and team managers across departments.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. degree in mechanical/ civil/ space/ chemical engineering or equivalent qualification.
- More than 10 years of relevant work experience in at least one of: systems engineering; project management; process plant, propulsion test bench or launch base design; infrastructure/construction projects or similar.
- Project management certification: PMI-PMP, AXELOS-PRINCE2, APM-PMQ, IPMA Level B/A or similar.
- Experience handling complex, international, multimillion-euro infrastructure or process plant projects or similar.
- Extensive experience in a regulatory environment to ensure Compliance, Safety and Certification of the projects.
- Ability to grasp technical and managerial problems quickly and conduct sound trade-offs.
- Reliable coordinator between stakeholders and engineers with a confident demeanor, while keeping project teams motivated and unified.
- Excellent work ethic and outstanding English communication skills (C1).
- High performance under stress; can-do attitude and willingness to travel internationally.

- Technical expertise in the aerospace sector, understanding of rocket launch systems and ground infrastructure of launch systems.
