Senior Protection Engineer & Secondary Design Engineer

We’re partnering with a specialist engineering organisation delivering next-generation high-voltage substation and grid infrastructure projects across Germany, the UK, and wider Europe . With a strong focus on sustainable, clean-energy technologies , the company is expanding its protection & secondary design capability.

This is a hands‑on senior engineering role offering real technical ownership across complex, international grid projects.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver secondary design packages for HV / EHV substations
• Design protection, control, interlocking, and metering schemes
• Produce and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
• Prepare and review: Protection philosophies, single line diagrams, cable schedules and I/O lists
• Interface closely with primary design, commissioning, and site teams
• Provide technical leadership and design assurance on complex projects

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Protection Engineer or Secondary Design Engineer
• Strong background in HV / EHV substation projects
• Hands‑on expertise with ELECDES, EPLAN, and AutoCAD
• Solid understanding of protection relays, control systems, and grid standards
• German language skills at B2 level or higher (mandatory)
• Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
