Senior Python Developer (m/f/d) - Hybrid 3 days/week in Hamburg

We are hiring for our client, a fast-growing SaaS company building its own product for industrial and manufacturing customers.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team.

This role focuses on building systems for simulation and optimization, where the work goes beyond standard backend development and involves solving complex, real-world problems.

You will work closely with the Co-founder (who is also leading the engineering team) in a flat hierarchy environment, contributing directly to technical decisions and system design.

• Design and develop backend systems for optimization, simulation, and scheduling
• Build scalable and high-performance services using Python (or similar technologies like Golang, etc.)
• Work on complex business logic and algorithm-driven systems
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an international environment
• Improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
• 5–7+ years of experience in backend/software engineering
• Strong hands-on experience in building production systems
• Proficiency in Python (core requirement)
• Experience working on complex systems (beyond CRUD/API development)
• Solid problem-solving and system design skills
