We are seeking a Senior Research Strategist with deep expertise in Satellite Communication Systems, preferable knowledge in (Optical Communications)– to define architectures for next-generation systems, including the support / lead of the preparation of technical proposals. This role blends advanced system engineering with competitive proposal development to secure funding and contracts for cutting-edge programs.

Author and integrate technical sections of proposals, white papers, and RFP responses, translating complex designs into compelling narratives.Lead concept development, system-level design, and architecture definition of portfolio-complementing new technical solutions for FSO, QKD, etc.Develop end-to-end link budgets, performance models, and risk analyses for proposed architectures.Define system requirements, interfaces, and verification plans across multiple subsystems.Collaborate with internal engineering teams, subcontractors, and research institutions to coordinate technical inputs for proposals.Provide technical leadership during proposal reviews and design reviews.
What you bring with you
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related field.Proven track record of architecting and/or winning funded projects in the national and international environment (ESA, EC, etc.).Proven experience in system-level design, preferable in Free Space Optical Communication.Ability to produce link budgets, performance simulations, and trade-off analyses.Strong technical writing and presentation skills.Familiarity with ESA and EC funding processes.
