A postdoctoral position in the group of Florian Stengel at the University of Konstanz is available from April 1st2026 (the exact starting date is negotiable; the position will remain open until filled).

The position is part of the newly funded CRC 1756 "Chemical and Biological Principles of Cellular Trigger Response”, an interdisciplinary collaborative research centre (CRC) of the departments of Biology and Chemistry at the University of Konstanz, which combines world-class expertise ranging from small molecule synthesis, proteomics, to single-molecule and live-cell imaging to understand how cells perceive changes in their environment and react to them.

The successful candidate will function as the Head of the Central Proteomics Platform and enable research within CRC 1756 by providing state-of-the art proteomics analyses and establish novel project-tailored workflows for specific research questions.

The collaborative research environment within the CRC 1756 and the Stengel Lab is highly integrative, very international, and operates in English. Therefore, the ability to speak German would be a plus, but is not essential. The University of Konstanz is among the most highly ranked institutions in Germany and provides a lively and academically outstanding research environment.

We are looking for an experienced expert in proteomics or MS-based bioinformatics with hands-on experience in method development and MS operations. I n-depth experience in state-of-the art MS-based work-flows to monitor protein abundance, modifications and interactions are essential. Experience in single-cell proteomics is considered a strong plus.

The position is originally for up to 4 years, with the possibility for renewal and comes with a competitive salary (E 13 TV-L, 100 %) and excellent health and retirement benefits.
