About the role

Permanent, full‑time position based in Berlin.

Your mission

Own the system‑level design and integration of RF / data link solutions for multiple aerial and CUAS programmes. Ensure reliable, secure and robust radio communication through hands‑on work with hardware systems, vendors and programme teams from architecture definition to deployment. This role focuses on execution and system ownership rather than pure software or protocol development.

Responsibilities

• Own RF / data link system architecture, selection, and integration across programmes
• Act as technical interface to radio and data link manufacturers
• Define and validate system requirements, trade‑offs and performance targets
• Ensure robust operation with respect to range, latency, redundancy and RF‑environment constraints
• Support integration, flight test and operational deployment activities
• Drive cross‑programme consistency and reuse of RF / data link solutions
• Contribute to documentation, certification readiness and technical decision‑making
• Depending on seniority: provide technical leadership or mentoring within the team

Qualifications

• Strong experience in RF communications and data link systems
• Proven track record integrating radio systems into complex aerospace or defence platforms
• Solid understanding of RF fundamentals (antennas, propagation, interference, link budgets)
• Hands‑on experience with external vendors and system suppliers
• System‑level mindset with the ability to operate independently in a senior role

Nice to Have

• Experience with UAS / CUAS / missile or mission‑critical systems
• Exposure to contested or EW‑relevant RF environments
• Prior team lead or technical mentoring experience
• Familiarity with flight test or system validation environments
