Senior Scientist / Team lead Protein Sciences with focus on membrane proteins (gn)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Provision of scientific and technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to achieve corporate goals for challenging research projects within early-stage drug discovery on membrane proteins
Responsibility for supervising a small team of research associates
Establishing and managing research projects within the field of membrane proteins (GPCRs, ion-channels, transporters) and challenging soluble proteins
Evaluation and implementation of new technology and/or equipment to constantly improve the membrane protein platform
Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports)
Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partners

PhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track record
A minimum of 2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the area of membrane proteins
Strong acquaintance with regard to structure-based construct design, expression and purification of membrane proteins and soluble proteins
Profound knowledge in structural biology, e.g. Xray and/or cryoEM
Hands-on experience in expression and purification of membrane and soluble proteins in bacterial, insect and/or mammalian cells for structural and biophysical applications
Hands-on mentality with a problem-solving mindset and attention to details
Independent, service-oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
