Senior Short-term Trader (Prompt) (f/m/d) E.ON Energy Markets GmbH

Your tasks

• You will play a key role in the German Power Trading Desk, managing positions from month-ahead to Day-ahead
• You take positions and manage exposures across the EEM portfolio based on own fundamental and technical analysis across multiple markets
• You stay on top of the latest regulatory and market developments
• You observe and strictly comply with all regulatory guidelines, and within mandated authorities
• You act transparent, demonstrate ability to educate fellow Traders
• You improve the automation of trading activities in the Short- term Desk
• You identify and highlight trends and market developments to support commercial decision making
• You develop and implement automated trading strategies that successfully contribute to Desk PNL
• You build analytics and reports to monitor the performance of our trading strategies
• You develop efficient relationships with traders across multiple teams and locations

Your profile

• University degree in economics, finance, physics, engineering or a comparable subject.
• Excellent understanding of the German Power market, with a focus on Prompt to Intraday
• Highly entrepreneurial individual with proven track record in P&L contribution
• Self-motivated, hands‑on mentality, strong technical and quantitative skills
• Experience in developing reports and algorithms and skilled in coding and analytics (e.g. Python, SQL)
• Experience with data engineering (data bases, pipelines, data structure etc.) as well as experience with Microsoft Azur (Azur DevOps) is of advantage
• Experience with short-term IT systems such as DeltaXE, VATP is of advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
