Senior Software Engineer - Database Integrations

Overview

Senior Software Engineer - Database Integrations role at ClickHouse. This position is remote and open to candidates in countries where ClickHouse has a hiring presence.

What You’ll Do

• Build Scalable Systems: Design and develop a high-performance data onboarding platform capable of handling petabytes of data in real-time.
• Integrate Diverse Datastores: Build robust integrations with data sources (e.g., MySQL, Mongo, Iceberg), data storages (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, ClickHouse), and object storages (e.g., S3, GCS).
• Leverage ClickHouse: Create solutions that enable users to fully harness ClickHouse’s performance and throughput.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with internal teams to ensure the platform aligns with customer needs and business objectives.
• Drive Innovation: Lead technical discussions and continually implement improvements.

About You

• Experience: 5+ years of industry experience building high-scale, data-intensive software solutions.
• Expertise: Proficient in Golang (preferred) or Java, with deep experience in distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Data Engineering: Strong background in designing and implementing robust ETL pipelines and understanding data replication methodologies such as CDC.
• Cloud-Native Proficiency: Experience with cloud-native architecture and at least one major CSP.
• Kubernetes: Practical experience with Kubernetes (K8s), including debugging and managing distributed systems at scale.
• Problem Solver: Excellent production debugging skills in fast-paced environments.
• High Autonomy: Thrives in a high-velocity setting with ownership and autonomy.
• Mindset: Founder’s mindset with a focus on impact, innovation, and delivering measurable results.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills and a track record of cross-team collaboration.

Compensation

For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range is listed above. In certain locations (e.g., Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Seattle, WA; New York City Metro Area) a premium market range may apply.
