Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead at MetaCTO, you’ll be at the forefront of our technical initiatives, combining hands-on development expertise with strategic technical leadership. You’ll design and build scalable software solutions while establishing technical standards and guiding the team toward architectural excellence. This role offers significant growth potential into full technical leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions using a modern tech stack (Python, React, Tailwind CSS, Postgresql, Django, Docker)
• Collaborate with the team to optimize our AWS cloud platform, leveraging services like Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, and ECS/EKS to ensure scalability, reliability, and to automate operational management
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth, automated deployments that support development velocity
• Contribute to the development of microservices architectures and API designs that improve system maintainability and separation of concern
• Work closely with the development, product and infrastructure team members to ensure that the platform evolves according to business needs and product vision

Technical Leadership (Long-Term Growth)

• Guide Technical Direction – Own and drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and ensure the platform evolves to support scalability, security, and performance goals. Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical vision
• Team Development & Mentorship – Coach, mentor, and support engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and workshops, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement
• Stakeholder Communication & Alignment – Act as the bridge between engineering, product, and other stakeholders, translating technical concepts, setting clear expectations, and ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines
• AI Tools & Adoption – Champion the use of AI-powered tools and workflows to improve team productivity, code quality, and delivery speed while driving best practices for effective AI integration within the development cycle

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in software development
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS) and containerization technologies (Docker, ECS/EKS)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong problem-solving mindset, with a focus on scalable, performance-optimized solutions
• Experience with microservices architecture and API design
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a tech lead or senior engineering role with leadership responsibilities
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with serverless computing and distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud-native message queue services (AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, etc.)
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
• Experience with AI-powered development tools and workflows
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and technical project management
• Additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, etc.) are a plus
