Senior Software -Hardware Integration Engineer

This leading sensor technology developer is seeking a Senior Software-Hardware Integration Engineer for their R&D HQ near Böblingen. The engineer will develop and integrate embedded software under Linux and at bare‑metal level in C, C++ and VHDL for fibre‑optic‑based sensor systems used in a variety of applications worldwide. The engineer will work as part of the software team but will also work closely with the hardware development team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate embedded software under Linux and at bare‑metal level in C, C++ and VHDL for fibre‑optic‑based sensor systems.
• Work closely with the hardware development team to ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
• Work on high‑speed interfaces, including PCIe, I2C, UART, JTAG.

Qualifications

Having completed a formal technical education, you will have gained postgraduate development experience in software at the hardware interface and embedded Linux software in C, C++ and VHDL. You will have experience with high‑speed interfaces including PCIe, I2C, UART, JTAG, and experience of working where hardware meets software is essential. You must speak fluent English and have intermediate (minimum B2) German language skills.
