Our client Merkle DACH are looking for a Senior Tester.

Until: 31st December 2025
Location: Remote, working to European time zone

Job Summary

The Senior Tester plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of web applications and backend systems. This role involves designing and executing both manual and automated test cases, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines. The purpose is to drive continuous quality improvements and deliver robust, user-ready software.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Design and execute manual test cases for functional, integration, and regression testing
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright with TypeScript
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and designers to define test strategies
• Build and maintain test plans, test data, and documentation
• Identify, log, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
• Ensure cross-browser and responsive testing
• Support release validation and UAT with business users
• High-quality test cases and documentation
• Automated test suite integrated in CI/CD
• Test coverage reports and defect metrics
• Regression validation ahead of releases
• Contributions to QA best practices and team knowledge sharing

Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of QA experience in manual and automation testing
• Proficiency in Playwright (preferred) or other E2E testing frameworks
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and modern JavaScript testing practices
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Xray, TestRail)
• Experience with CI tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

Bonus:

Performance or accessibility testing, BDD practices, API testing tools (Postman, REST-assured), containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
