Senior Underwriter Property Treaty (m/f/d) – France, BeLux

Join Munich Re as a Senior Underwriter Property Treaty, leading underwriting for key clients across France, Belgium and Luxembourg. We are looking for an ambitious professional to drive growth in our traditional and non‑traditional portfolio.

YOUR JOB

• Underwrite complex traditional accounts (structuring, pricing and wording assessment)
• Guide underwriters and experts, promote consistent quality and develop team know‑how
• Drive continuous development of market knowledge and underwriting approaches
• Interact frequently with clients and brokers, proactively contribute to negotiations to expand existing relationships and identify new business
• Draft and implement client and market strategies together with market teams
• Holistic understanding of client Property business to identify business potential
• Develop and consistently implement concepts and processes for reporting, monitoring and performance‑management of traditional and non‑traditional business
• Support management in professional and personal development of the overall team and individual underwriters
• Actively contribute to cross‑functional projects in the overall P&C underwriting team

YOUR PROFILE

• Excellent university degree or insurance‑related apprenticeship with in‑depth professional experience
• Extensive experience in Property underwriting, ideally across various markets, and in‑depth knowledge of relevant MR underwriting tools
• Experience with external catastrophe modelling tools preferred (RMS RiskLink DLM)
• High level of dedication, strong customer focus and affinity for developing solutions with clients
• Creative strategic thinker with strong communication skills
• Good team player, willing to share expertise
• Ability to supervise, guide and train others, and to work effectively with people at varying levels within the organization
• Ability to build personal customer relationships
• Analytical thinker, pragmatic and solution‑oriented
• Very good command of written and spoken English and French
• Willingness to travel regularly and to contribute to seminars, workshops and client projects
