What You Can Expect

Over two exciting years, you’ll gain hands‑on experiences and become an active part of your team’s daily activities. Through impactful projects in three customized assignments—including an eight‑month international placement—you’ll gain a deep understanding of Siemens Energy. A dedicated mentor will support you every step of the way, giving you the chance to explore different roles, engage in immersive experiences, and build a strong network with peers and industry leaders.

As part of our team in the Global Substations Business within Grid Technologies, you take on meaningful responsibility from day one. You will work in a global business setup, fast‑paced environment and contribute to real business and engineering challenges that support the energy transition.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Actively participate in global Substation projects, focusing on key areas including engineering, excellence and digital transformation initiatives
  • Use artificial intelligence as a daily co‑creation partner to improve problem‑solving, analysis, documentation, and decision‑making in a professional and responsible way
  • Challenge the status quo by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve transparency, and scale best practices across regions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help translate ideas into tangible business impact
  • Present insights, learnings, and results to teams and stakeholders, including leadership audiences when relevant

What You Bring

  • High learning agility and digital curiosity, with a passion for collaboration in a global and diverse environment and a purpose‑driven, innovative mindset
  • Proficiency in AI tools, with concrete examples of professional co‑creation using AI
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and interest in energy systems, infrastructure, and the energy transition
  • At least 3 months of international exposure (studying or working) and relevant experience through internships and/or working student roles is essential; additional permanent work experience of up to 36 months is welcome
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Excellent English skills to engage in a multicultural environment, with flexibility and willingness for international travel; advanced German skills are a plus
