Site Manager – Structured Cabling & ICT Infrastructure Projects

€45,000 – €50,000 per annum + travel & accommodation where applicable

About the Role

My client is a global leader in digital infrastructure delivery, specialising in end-to-end ICT and connectivity solutions across hyperscale data centres, enterprise networks, and commercial buildings. With over three decades of expertise and a growing workforce of over 800 technical professionals worldwide, we design, build, and manage mission-critical systems that power the modern digital world.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee structured cabling and containment projects throughout Frankfurt and wider Germany , with potential travel across the EU. This is a key position within a high-growth, fast-paced environment where technical excellence, compliance, and leadership are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead site-based operations on structured cabling and fibre optic projects, primarily within data centres, financial hubs, and commercial environments across Germany.
Supervise teams of engineers and supervisors to ensure the installation of copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7) and fibre optic (OM3, OM4, OS2) cabling meets manufacturer and client specifications.
Conduct daily site audits, toolbox talks, and ensure all work aligns with DIN/VDE
German electrical and ICT cabling standards as well as EN50173 and ISO/IEC 11801 .
Manage containment and pathway installations including ladder rack, basket tray, trunking, conduit, and underfloor systems .
Read, interpret, and update site drawings, floorplans, patching schedules, and redline documentation.
Ensure full compliance with German Health & Safety (BG BAU) legislation, including creating Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Manage materials onsite, coordinate procurement, and ensure cost-effective stock levels to avoid project delays.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and general contractors (Bauleiter) to ensure communication is clear, concise, and aligned with project milestones.
Prepare documentation packs including as-builts, test results (Fluke DTX/DSX), patching schedules, and O&M manuals .
Drive project delivery to meet programme deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Supervisor in structured cabling, particularly in German data centre or critical environment builds .
Hands-on knowledge of the installation, dressing, and termination of Cat6A F/UTP, S/FTP, and singlemode/multimode fibre .
Demonstrable experience in coordinating containment-first fix , followed by second-fix cable pulling, dressing, and labelling.
Familiarity with German building site protocol and safety procedures; German language skills (basic to intermediate) are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC) and test methodologies (Fluke, OTDR).
Competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and site management tools.
Ability to read technical drawings, produce reports, and coordinate site logistics.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills – able to motivate teams and foster a productive, compliant work environment.
Willingness to travel across Germany and wider EU as projects require.
