BABLE Smart Cities is the Facilitator for Smart Cities in Europe, born as a spin-off from Fraunhofer Research Society. With a decade of experience, we provide practical insights gained by practitioners, for practitioners.

Our mission is to accelerate change in the public and private sectors by providing market access and knowledge. We have facilitated €2B in Smart City projects with cities, towns, and regions. Our free knowledge hub connects innovators and the public sector, providing access to the most comprehensive Smart City datasets and insights in Europe.

Internship Opportunity

We offer an internship in our UK & Ireland team at our Stuttgart office in Germany, starting in Q1 2026. As an intern, you will play an integral role in supporting our consultancy and Platform projects.

What You Will Do

• You will actively contribute to our consultancy projects, spanning climate action and smart places initiatives in the UK and Ireland, as well as EU co-funded Smart Cities and Communities projects.
• You will be responsible for conducting market research specific to the UK & Ireland, exploring policy mechanisms, new funding initiatives, networking events, and innovative solutions within the realm of climate action and smart cities.

• Field Experience: Prior experience or studies in smart cities, sustainability, or urban planning will give you an edge.

• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office.

• Communicative Genius: Flourish in our international and multidisciplinary team with top-notch communication skills.

Your Profile:

• Currently pursuing a master\'s program in Energy Engineering, Sustainable Mobility, Environmental Engineering, Smart Cities or a related field, or possessing practical experience in a relevant area with outstanding academic achievements.
• A mandatory internship as part of your curriculum would be highly desirable.
• A native or professional level of English in written and spoken is required. Proficiency in Spanish or German may allow you to work closely with other teams but isn’t a requirement.
