Optimus Search is collaborating with a leading company based in Jena , renowned in the semiconductor sector for their expertise in micromechanical and optoelectronic components . This company works closely with clients on plasma processes, utilizing laser-driven analytical techniques to deliver highly accurate measurements. Employing around 550 professionals worldwide, with a turnover of approximately 130 million EUR , the organization operates from four locations in Germany , with its main office in Wettenberg. The Jena site offers a small, dedicated team from multiple sister companies, providing ample opportunity for both personal growth and career advancement.

Role Responsibilities:

You will work within a team to design and develop advanced , high-level device software based on a SECS/GEM-compatible framework (C#) .
A key aspect of your role will be to optimize and improve our existing control software (C++) .
You’ll be responsible for independently managing customer interface coordination and making necessary adjustments.
Your duties will occasionally involve assisting with software commissioning, which may include global travel for on-site customer support (approximately 10% of the time).
You'll maintain close communication with both customers and service technicians , offering solutions to technical challenges and handling any complaints.
Your contributions will be vital in designing innovative software solutions and executing them effectively.
As part of your role, you will oversee version control and documentation , ensuring they are managed efficiently within a structured software development process.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

A degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent technical training with relevant experience .
Strong proficiency in C# within a Microsoft development environment , such as Visual Studio.
Experience with TwinCAT 3 would be an advantage .
Solid knowledge of hardware and measurement techniques , ideally with experience in the semiconductor industry.
A proactive attitude toward exploring new technologies and programming languages.
Fluent English is essential , as our team operates internationally.
