Overview

Software Developer (f/m/d) – Image Processing, Research & Development at Siemens Healthineers. This role focuses on implementing state‑of‑the‑art image‑processing algorithms to advance medical imaging and image‑guided therapies in interventional radiology. The position offers flexible work arrangements, including mobile options within Germany and occasional remote work abroad.

Responsibilities

• Implement state‑of‑the‑art image‑processing algorithms.
• Ensure efficient implementation and detailed analysis/optimisation of algorithms for GPU and CPU architectures.
• Lead the full development cycle from design to product implementation, QA, and system integration; drive DevOps processes.
• Collaborate in an agile, cross‑functional, international team with stakeholders from Research & Development, Product Management, Innovation, and User Experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or electrical engineering.
• Several years of professional software development experience, preferably in image processing.
• In‑depth knowledge of real‑time systems software development; proficient in C++ and Python.
• Experience with CUDA and OpenMP for efficient algorithm implementation.
• Understanding of modern graphics pipelines and experience implementing shaders with Vulkan or Direct3D is an advantage.
• Professional experience in the healthcare sector or a comparable regulated environment is an advantage.
