Software Developer / Senior Scientist I – Laboratory Automation (Robotics Applications)

Responsibilities

• Independent development of applications in data handling, system and database integration (ELN, LIMS) and control of devices and custom user interfaces.
• Implementation of highly complex automation solutions and execution of proofs‑of‑concept (POC) across departments.
• Process analysis and workflow screening to identify automation opportunities, and conception, realization and documentation of the solutions.
• Active participation in initiatives that improve automation processes company‑wide.
• Interface responsibility between the automation group and the internal IT Information Research (IR) group.

Qualifications – Basic Requirements

• Senior Scientist I: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with about 10 years of experience (or Master’s / PhD as appropriate). Proven programming and automation experience.
• Senior Scientist II: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with about 12 years of experience (or Master’s / PhD as appropriate). Proven programming and automation experience.
• Excellent programming skills in C#, C, and/or Python and experience with agile software development.

Advantages / Not a Must

• Experience with data transformation and AI applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and Git.
• Experience with laboratory automation LIMS and ELN systems.
• Experience with driver development and API interfaces.
• Basic understanding of laboratory workflows in pharmaceutical development.
• Experience in regulated environments.

Soft Skills

• Strong teamwork in international interdisciplinary environments.
• Adaptability to changing environments and multiple projects.
• Excellent written and spoken English for presenting and reporting results.
