Software Engineer (all genders) - Business Central & Python

As a Software Engineer in our fresh produce trading division, you will develop and integrate our core business systems with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP). You build robust, maintainable solutions for automating, extending, and integrating business processes – from procurement to delivery. Your code runs the daily operations of teams across Europe.

The Role

You’ll take ownership across our full range of internal systems - Business Central extensions that run core trade operations, a growing landscape of Python microservices, and the CI/CD pipelines that tie it all together. A big part of this role is building and maintaining integrations with external service partners, EDI providers, and certification systems that our supply chain depends on. Hands‑on, end‑to‑end, shipping code that operations teams across Europe rely on daily.

What You’ll Work On

Business Central / AL Development

Work with the latest Business Central version
Develop and extend BC extensions for purchasing, sales, quality control, warehouse receiving, freight, and packaging
Work on our core Business Central trade platform – modules covering cost management, customs, lot tracking, pricing, and more
Build integrations with warehouse scanning systems for inbound/outbound goods processing, transfer orders, and packing
Write automated tests for business‑critical workflows

EDI, Data Exchange & Service Partner Integrations

Develop and maintain EDI pipelines – processing ORDERS, DESADV, and INVOIC messages with exchange providers and retail partners
Build and extend integrations with external service partners (container logistics, certification providers, pallet management)
Work with REST APIs, FTP‑based file exchange, and file‑based data imports (Excel/CSV) for partner data synchronization
Implement automated job queues for data fetching, certification syncing, and scheduled processing tasks

Python Microservices

Build and maintain a growing set of FastAPI‑based internal services
Design, deploy, and operate containerized services

DevOps & Automation

Maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for automated builds, releases, and multi‑environment deployments
Work with PowerShell scripts for BC environment management and deployment orchestration

What We’re Looking For

Must‑have

Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification
4+ years of professional development experience
2+ years of experience with Business Central & AL
Solid Git workflows (branching, PRs, releases)
SQL and relational database experience
Python proficiency – REST APIs (FastAPI or similar)
PowerShell scripting ability
Good German (C1) and English (C1) language skills

Nice‑to‑have

EDI message processing (ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC)
BC web services
Container technologies (Docker, Podman)
Experience integrating with third‑party APIs and service partners
Supply chain / logistics domain experience
