Description

As a C++ software engineer at NinjaOne, you will maintain features, diagnose and identify source‑code fixes within our Ninja Remote and Quick Connect feature suite. You will work on new features across product lines that are critical for our customers, product managers and sales team, and will provide fixes as well as contribute to new features and integrations needed for the product’s overall success.

We build mission‑critical services to enable NinjaOne’s customers to administer, protect and maintain millions of endpoints and servers. You will design and develop high‑availability software systems that support our worldwide operations, using the latest compilers, language standards and agile, customer‑focused development practices.

NinjaOne is built on Java, Kotlin, C++ and Postgres and runs as a scalable cloud service in AWS. Knowledge of large‑scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design and client‑server architecture will help you thrive.

Location: Remote from home if you are in Germany. We have an office in Berlin and welcome candidates who would enjoy a hybrid environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose and document customer support issues, working with QA Engineers to reproduce them within development and QA environments.
• Capture Jira bug tickets with supporting documentation, logs, and traces.
• Identify recommended code fixes with read access to source‑code repositories.
• Work with Senior Developers to test and fix bugs and regression issues.
• Maintain and improve current applications.
• Build and support embedded applications for deployment on Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Analyze product for client‑focused satisfaction of usability.
• Design and code new software IT operations products.
• Other duties as needed.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 2–5 years of C++ or C development experience.
• Experience with C++ Qt framework, including Qt Widgets and QML for cross‑platform desktop/mobile development.
• Working with low‑level APIs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Previous experience with Visual Studio, Xcode or QtCreator.
• Version control with Git and code‑review practices.
• Working knowledge of OOP design principles.

What Would Make You Stand Out

• Experience with JSON, JavaScript, Java.
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud service.
• Experience using SQL, Postgres, MSSQL or similar.
• Experience with networking and/or real‑time voice and video data transmission applications.
• Previous experience with Valgrind, gdb, CMake.
