The role is part of G+D's R&D Software Solutions focusing on secure digital solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Elevate Developer Experience: Design, provide solutions and advocate for a seamless, intuitive internal developer ecosystem that minimizes cognitive load and friction, fosters technical excellence and developer joy.
• Optimize Software Development Flow: Drive systemic efficiency by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks within the end-to-end delivery lifecycle. Establish key performance indicators (such as DORA) that provide actionable insights for teams to enhance throughput, ensure a resilient, predictable, high‑velocity flow from ideation to production.
• Driving Engineering Standards and Best Practices: Partner with engineering teams to share best practices, standardize and innovate in architecture, code quality and testing. Define the "Golden Path" for maintainability and the secure utilization of AI‑augmented development.
• Pioneer AI‑Augmented & Agentic Workflows: Accelerate the adoption of AI Copilots while leading the transition from traditional coding to a spec‑driven, agentic development flow. Enable engineers to shift focus toward high‑level system design, complex problem‑solving, and strategic architectural decisions.
• Strategy & Innovation: Develop and execute the Software Engineering Excellence strategy and roadmap, balancing long‑term roadmaps with rapid prototyping of new internal tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, agile teams, DevOps, Agile Coaches, and other stakeholders in an inclusive, appreciative environment. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, mutual learning and technical mentorship.

Your Profile:

• Proven Engineering Background: Master’s degree in computer science and a strong track record as a senior software engineer and architect, with deep expertise in modern tech stacks (Embedded, On‑Premise Enterprise Customer Solutions, and Cloud‑native SaaS).
• "Builder" Mentality: Passion for internal tooling and developer productivity. Prefer "showing" over "telling" and comfortable diving into a codebase.
• AI & Agentic Proficiency: Practical experience with AI Copilots and deep understanding of LLM integration, prompt engineering, or building agentic chains.
• Data‑Driven Optimization: Proficient in using metrics to drive change. Experience implementing and interpreting DORA metrics or similar frameworks to identify systemic bottlenecks and measure flow.
• Empathetic & Collaborative Leadership: Use empathy to understand developer pain points and strong stakeholder management to align teams toward a shared engineering excellence vision.
• Pragmatism over Perfectionism: Balance ideal technical solutions with practical business needs to ensure excellence delivers value.
• Change Management Catalyst: Experience driving cultural shifts within engineering organizations, such as moving toward a spec‑driven culture or implementing organization‑wide standards across R&D sites.
• Languages: Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
