Our team delivered the gaze tracking system fundamental to the Apple Vision Pro and is continuously developing solutions for Apple’s next-generation products. We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Intern who is passionate about building robust ML infrastructure, building data analysis pipelines, and shaping the future of AI-assisted engineering at Apple.

Description

This position requires a highly motivated individuals who wants to push what can be done for machine learning model development, analysis, and deployment using AI workflows. Your goal will be to be a force multiplier for the team. You will be responsible for building debugging tools, accelerating machine learning training loops, and pushing forward what is possible with AI workflows.Potential internship areas include:Designing and implementing AI-driven workflows and agentic systems to automate and improve internal engineering processes.Building AI centered debugging and visualization workflows.Building scalable, high-quality software architecture to support deep learning research and hardware integration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree in Computer Science, machine learning, or a related field.
• At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education, or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
• Very strong software engineering skills with fluency in Python
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, with hands-on familiarity in PyTorch and writing ML training loops.
• Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to open source projects
• Familiarity with distributed training, GPU optimization, and ML infrastructure.
• Strong experience with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
• Previous industry experience in software engineering, MLOps, or AI tooling is a strong plus.
• Experience with C++/Obj-C
