Software Engineering Team Lead (f/m/d) – DevOps & Platform

Join Zertificon Solutions GmbH as a Software Engineering Team Lead (f/m/d) – DevOps & Platform and help shape our operational services for secure communication solutions.

We are an IT security specialist that encrypts business communications for leading enterprises worldwide. With over a decade of experience, we provide secure, user‑friendly encryption products. Our team of 120 highly qualified professionals in Berlin is driven by purpose, security, and agility.

Key Responsibilities

The role ensures the health and security of Zertificon Operational Services (ZOS) platforms, enabling uninterrupted development across all environments:

Proactive maintenance and monitoring of Zertificon environments for availability and full functionality.
Maintenance of production and R&D hardware, supporting releases and troubleshooting pipelines.
Ownership and management of our R&D self‑service solutions.

Infrastructure & Automation

Lead design, build and maintenance of automated IT infrastructure (on‑premise & cloud).
Identify and solve internal customer needs with infrastructure, tooling and self‑service.
Develop and extend CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform.

Monitoring & Maintenance

Manage monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana) and plan strategic alerts.
Maintain environments: hardware testing, installation, patches, OS, certificates, firmware.

Containerization & Cloud

Manage, troubleshoot and automate container clusters (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, hypervisors).
Work with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Lead a team of 4-6 in SaaS development, troubleshooting and improvements.
Review scripts, playbooks, manifests and pull requests for code quality.
Communicate updates, progress and challenges to stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery.

Requirements

Experience with container technologies (images, registries, Docker Swarm).
Strong understanding of Ansible for configuration management.
Proven experience with Kubernetes cluster configuration and management.
Solid understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines and Git.
Strong experience using Terraform.
Datacenter expertise with firewalls, switches, routers, cabling and servers.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and M365 products.
Excellent English language skills and effective communication.
Leadership and mentoring abilities, ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of databases (backup, restore, troubleshooting, migration) and InfoSec (TCP/IP, certificates).
