Position Overview

• Handle challenging and demanding client needs and expectations, primarily for large customers in the real estate sector dealing with property, content and business interruption claims.
• Direct client contact with relevant stakeholders; the central point of contact for all claim‑related matters.
• Communicate with insurers, intermediary claim service providers and experts.
• Act as the technical decision maker on all claim‑related topics.
• Strong sales orientation: showcase the value in claim cases and coordinate communication with all stakeholders, including the customer’s managing directors.
• Coordinate all parties involved in claim settlement and ensure optimal processes; initiate structural improvements when required.
• Claim analysis, coordination and organisation.
• Identify, analyse and assess large, complex or exception claims.
• Lead, strategically and proactively negotiate and settle complex or large claims; crisis management and damage minimisation.
• Negotiate and arrange optimal claim settlement with insurers/customers on complex, large and exceptional claims.
• Maintain correspondence with the entire network, Marsh, insurers and third‑party providers – nationally and internationally.
• Set up the task force for each claim, coordinate and communicate with all parties, review opinions and expert reports.
• Work with colleagues across the Marsh network, including international teams.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in BWL, VWL or a comparable field, ideally with an insurance focus.
• Solid knowledge of property insurance.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• Strong written and telephone communication skills and high social competence.
• High level of customer and service orientation; responsible for client interests in the claims area.
• High pro‑activeness, initiative, self‑organisation, commitment and goal orientation.
• High flexibility, assertiveness, teamwork and resilience.
• Solution‑oriented thinking and analytical ability.
• Quick grasp of facts and issues, good perception.
• Sales orientation, big‑picture mindset and contextual awareness.
• Decisiveness and negotiation skill.
• Good MS Office knowledge.
• Capability to solve difficult and complex problems.
• Excellent German and English language skills complete the profile.
