Work Location Notes : Senior Facility Technician (m/f/d) for the Abiomed Team in Aachen. The role focuses on the operation, maintenance, and optimization of buildings and facilities, including cleanroom infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical, infrastructural, and FM knowledge to maintenance and servicing of building and cleanroom technologies.
- Identify and resolve faults in complex technical systems.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors and monitor their work.
- Conduct safety and quality checks, document all maintenance and inspections.
- Evaluate offers and verify their implementation.
- Ensure compliance with operator duties and safety regulations.
- Contribute to modernization and automation projects (e.g., HVAC systems, building management systems, data analytics).
- Use initiative for repairs and optimization efforts.
- Ensure building safety and prepare risk assessments and operating instructions.
Qualifications
- Completed trades apprenticeship (e.g., ventilation technician, refrigeration technician, or measurement and control technician) with at least 8 years of experience, ideally with MSR knowledge.
- Solid knowledge of relevant technical regulations and standards.
- Proactive, structured work approach and a high sense of responsibility.
- Reliability, flexibility, and strong service orientation to deliver top results.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
- Passion for process optimization and finding innovative solutions.
- Good English skills (spoken and written) and proficient MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of BIM and CAFM is advantageous but not required.
- Willingness for on-call duty and occasional weekend shifts, with appropriate compensation and support.
