About the Role

You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the c ore of our manufacturing facility transforming digital modelsinto physical elements at scale. Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure,build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, andsupport. You will be trusted to solve problems efficiently and effectively building on top of a solid architecture and operational foundation andwill be encouraged to seek out under-attended topics and assume responsibility forthem both within your product area as well as across product areas.
As a Staff Engineer, you have an impact across multiple teams within your product area.Staff Engineers effectively collaborate with other Staff Engineers and foster a culture ofregular exchange and cooperation. Their ability to communicate effectively and takeinitiative ensures that they not only contribute to the technical success of projects , butalso help drive overall growth and innovation within the company by sharing both bestpractices but also failures and learning from them. With your focus on and experience in SRE / operating large systems you will drive andspearhead operational excellence within your product area.

What you'll be doing

As a Staff Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for:
Leading technical initiatives that ensure software systems are reliable, maintainable, and operationally sound, especially in logistics - and manufacturing heavy domains
Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on - prem), managing complex software deployments at scale
Bringing a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to monitor, maintain, and mprove software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency
Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated
Mentoring engineers across multiple teams and improving system-wide architecture, a maintainable and sound codebase and operational excellence incl. incident handling
Helping define , monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other importantKPIs like e.g. OEE for critical systems

What you bring

You are an experienced software engineer with a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering or operations
You possess practical experience in all key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines incl. quality assurance , and scaling
You’ve operated and supported large - scale software systems in cloud and non - cloud environments (on - premise)
You’ve worked in companies with strong operational cultures , ideally in logistics or manufacturing – understanding the commercial impact of system downtime
You have experience mentoring and guiding engineers at various levels
You are proficient with most of the following technologies Kotlin / SpringBoot
- Kubernetes
- Linux
- PostgreSQL
- OptaPlanner / Camunda / BPMN / Optimization
- Python / Bash is a plus
- OPC - UA / PLC / SPS is a plus
You bring Cloud Operations experience
Experience with Azure is a bonus
You’re familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems
Experience with defining and working with SLAs/SLOs is a bonus
You are willing to travel within Germany for in - person team events as well visiting our manufacturing location
