Virginia Tax is seeking to hire multiple Tax Auditors in the Eastern Virginia area to conduct audits on businesses to determine their compliance with Virginia state tax laws. The emphasis will be on Virginia Sales and Use Tax.
The Auditor, using generally accepted auditing standards, reviews taxpayer and business records and other source documents needed to determine if the taxpayer is compliant with the tax laws of Virginia. The Auditor also develops audits and assessments, educates taxpayers, and ensures the collection and remittance of payments are the appropriate amount of tax due to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Prior to applying for this position, please note this position is home-based and candidates must currently reside in one of the following Eastern Virginia areas:
Counties/cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Newport News, Hampton
*No relocation costs are covered
These positions are home-based, but travel is required to the taxpayer’s business location and may include occasional overnight stays. Overnight travel work expenses are covered by Virginia Tax.
The anticipated salary for this position is commensurate with experience up to $68,000.
