Steel Trader

An international trading company is currently recruiting a Steel Trader to work in their Düsseldorf office.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing customer inquiries, order tracking, execution and monitoring of orders, managing payment runs, and quality management for their automotive clients.

The ideal candidate should have commercial training and sales experience of steel or metal products.

Business trips within Europe (mainly in Germany, Eastern European countries and Italy) will be expected. (approximately twice a month)

WORK TYPE : hybrid (2days work from home)

VISA SUPPORT : No

TYPE : Permanent, full-time (6 months probationary period)

WORKING HOURS : Monday to Friday, 38.5 hours per week

SALARY : €40-80k, depending on experience

START : ASAP

BENEFITS : Car parking, annual leave (30 days in the beginning + 2 days after staying 5 years at company)

Steel Trader Main Responsibilities

• Managing the supply chain of trading steel products for automotive industry between Europe and Asia
• Processing of customer inquiries as well as the associated customer communication internally and externally
• Order tracking with customers, manufacturers and service providers
• Execution, control and monitoring of orders
• Follow-up of the payment run as well as management and control of the dunning procedure
• Quality management - process monitoring and coordination between the various departments and business partners
• Business trip

Steel Trader Ideal Candidate

• 3 years of trading experience of steel / metal products are required
• Working within automotive experience is advantageous
• Team-oriented cooperation or work organization
• Business level fluency in English is required
• Fluency in German or Japanese is highly advantageous
• Willingness to travel
