Responsibilities
- Provide stress support throughout different development phases from conceptual design to modifications and in‑service support
- Sizing of structural parts, components and installations made from metal and carbon fiber materials using state‑of‑the‑art analysis tools, FEM techniques and classic handbook methods
- Authoring of analysis reports, qualification documents and compliance statements
- Support the Design Office and Mechanical System installation
- Select manufacturing technologies, materials and standards during sizing
- Define and establish certification/qualification means of compliance
- Participate in the development of technological areas of engineering and stress methods & tools
- Manage allocated tasks and activities ensuring they are correctly executed to achieve required quality and customer time‑scales
Qualifications
- University degree in aeronautical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in structural analysis of airframe components, especially in composite materials
- Wide experience in FEM and software packages, especially HyperWorks and Nastran
- Good knowledge of standard stress methods (e.g. HSB, Bruhn, ESDU, Roark & Young)
- Knowledge of airframe qualification and certification requirements, preferred on military standards
- Global understanding of aircraft development processes to support transversal activities
- Experience in stress analysis of pipe works or impact simulations is a plus
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in English and German
