Student Assistant (all genders) - DevOps & Research (Data Spaces)

The Energy Informatics Group at the Cognitive Energy Systems department of Fraunhofer IOSB-AST researches and develops innovative solutions for sovereign and secure energy data spaces. Our work focuses on enabling trusted data exchange across organizational boundaries, supporting data-driven services, AI-based analytics, and digital innovation in heterogeneous and decentralized energy systems.

Be part of change

• Assist in operating Kubernetes deployments and namespaces
• Support GitOps/CI workflows with Argo CD pipelines
• Automate tasks and tooling with shell and Java or Python scripting
• Troubleshoot build/deployment issues and improve reliability
• Contribute to documentation and apply semantics/graph concepts where relevant
• Conduct and support research in the fields of DevOps, data and system interoperability

What you contribute

• Enrolled as Master of Science student in Computer Science or related field
• Experienced with Kubernetes, Argo CD, and CI systems
• Strong scripting skills with capabilities in Java or Python
• Familiar with semantics and graph structures/theoretical informatics
• Basic AI experience regarding model usage or pipeline integration
• Reliable, collaborative, and detail-oriented
• Interest in energy systems and data spaces
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage

The weekly working time is 10–20 hours.
