Supplier Engineer (m/f/d) – Feldkirchen

The Yield Technology Group, a subsidiary of Applied Materials located in Feldkirchen (near Munich), develops and produces high‑precision electron optical devices (electron microscopes). For our constantly growing location in Feldkirchen, we are looking to strengthen our team and are actively hiring a Supplier Engineer who finds solutions for internal and/or external requirements; recommends process, product or service improvements, and ensures that suppliers are carefully selected so we can guarantee our standards of quality, value, delivery and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of the technical requirements of new and existing products.
  • Apply knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to the design department that would result in savings, shorter lead times, system improvements, longer lifespan, and/or risk mitigation.
  • Work with product development teams and suppliers to ensure that professional and manufacturable design is taken into account when developing new products (NPI / DfX).
  • Implement supplier visits, product audits and acceptances at home and abroad.
  • Continuously participate in supplier selection processes to develop a supplier base that offers competitive advantages in terms of quality, cost, delivery reliability and technology.
  • Conduct system audits of suppliers to assess capabilities and performance, and initiate and track continuous improvements.

  • Train, support, and monitor the Product Qualification Program (PQP) for critical parts with suppliers.
  • Support product development teams in collaboration with qualified suppliers in the selection and implementation of new, advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Error handling (8D) – monitor the measures until successful implementation, including effectiveness control, analysis of the causes of errors, determination of corrective actions in cooperation with the appropriate departments and corresponding suppliers.

Education and Experience

  • A degree as a technician or engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Electrical expertise, coupled with problem‑solving skills.
  • Hands‑on experience with supplier audits and quality management systems, including internal audits, quality and risk management tools, including FMEA and quality planning.
  • Analytical and organizational skills with an understanding of best practices in the manufacturing process or technical manufacturing at suppliers.
  • Team player with effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills in German and English, verbally as well as in writing.
  • German C2 (min C1); English C1 (min. B2).
  • Willingness to take part in local and international business trips (at least 40 %).
