Position: Supplier Quality Engineer I (SQE I)Location: MilwaukeeDepartment: Manufacturing & QualityReports to: Plant Supplier Quality ManagerEmployment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleAs a Supplier Quality Engineer I (Entry-Level), you will support the complete supplier quality process for motorcycle components—from new product introduction (NPI) through production and warranty. This hands-on role is designed for an early-career professional ready to contribute to part qualification, inspection readiness, and supplier communication within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll collaborate closely with plant teams, senior engineers, and suppliers to uphold Harley-Davidson’s quality and safety standards throughout the product lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Introduction (NPI) / Launch PhaseSupport supplier PPAP preparation and track submission statusAssist with capability studies and dimensional validationsCollect and share supplier feedback during feasibility and design reviewsHelp establish inspection criteria based on CTQ (Critical to Quality) characteristicsProduction / Sustaining PhaseSupport incoming part inspection and first-pass yield trackingInvestigate non-conformances and issue preliminary supplier notificationsCoordinate containment activities for immediate quality issuesMaintain supplier performance records and audit documentsWarranty / Field FeedbackCoordinate part returns for supplier analysis of early warranty claimsRecord and monitor supplier responses to field quality issuesAssist in summarizing warranty data for internal team reviewsQualifications (Required)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a technical field; or equivalent relevant experience0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or quality (internships/co-ops accepted)Basic understanding of: PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans & GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Strong attention to detail and willingness to work on the plant floorComfortable communicating with internal and supplier contactsAbility to travel up to 50% (supplier visits and audits)Additional InformationThis entry-level position offers exposure to end-to-end quality processes in a globally recognized brand.
