Role Description

The Supply Chain / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily logistics and supply chain activities to ensure the smooth flow of materials, goods, and information across the organization. This role supports procurement, inventory management, and distribution functions, ensuring on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and cost control. The coordinator works closely with vendors, logistics partners, and internal teams to maintain reliable and transparent supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate shipment schedules, deliveries, and logistics documentation for domestic and international orders.
• Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Maintain detailed records of shipments, inventory, purchase orders, and related documents.
• Support procurement by assisting with purchase requests, vendor selection, and cost comparison.
• Monitor stock levels, forecast supply requirements, and coordinate replenishment activities.
• Track and resolve logistics issues such as shipment delays, damages, and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and sales, to align logistics activities with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Analyze logistics performance, costs, and timelines to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare regular reports on logistics metrics, supplier performance, and inventory movements.
• Assist in implementing process enhancements and digital tools to improve supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics coordination, or inventory management (internship experience acceptable for entry-level).
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles, transportation methods, and inventory control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with international trade, customs procedures, and shipping documentation preferred.
• English proficiency required; Japanese or other language skills are advantageous for Japan-based positions.
