Surveying Technician

Responsibilities
This position requires individuals to collect and verify field data, maps utilities and infrastructure, prepares data for CAD/GIS, and maintains communication with clients and authorities.

Responsibilities Include

• Supports and trains junior staff in surveying techniques, equipment use, and safety.
• Operates and maintains GPS equipment, collects accurate field data, and troubleshoots device issues.
• Locates and maps utilities and infrastructure; ensures data collection meets project and safety standards.
• Reviews and verifies survey data for accuracy, identifies discrepancies, and cross-checks with records.
• Prepares and organizes data for CAD/GIS processing; assists in creating maps, drawings, and reports.
• Maintains clear communication and coordination with utility companies, engineering firms, and municipal authorities.
• Uses CAD software to create and edit technical drawings based on survey data.
• Utilizes GIS tools to analyze spatial data and generate maps.
• Maintains digital records and archives of all survey results for future reference.
