Sustainability Coordinator - Maternity Leave Cover

Sustainability is a key element within our business; it is pivotal in ensuring that our business is future proof for all actors in our supply chains. We have a temporary role (April ’26 – February ’27) available to cover the maternity leave of the sustainability coordinators of the Baronie. The scope of the role is Baronie with specific emphasis on Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Belgium.

You will report to our Head of Sustainability and work closely with other members of the sustainability team based in Europe and Côte d’Ivoire.

You will be part of the international sustainability team of the group, an internal and external ambassador for a diversity of sustainability topics. After your introduction period you will be responsible for the proactive implementation of our sustainability activities. As this is a temporary role it is important that you are able to connect in a short time with the relevant internal and external stakeholders of the Baronie.

The role will be based at our office in Caslano (Switzerland) or in Norderstedt (Germany).

Your key responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders of several of our entities on sustainability topics.
  • Fulfilling customer and stakeholder requests on a diversity of sustainability topics.
  • Working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and international sustainability related legislations and due diligence, with emphasis on the EUDR implementation by end of 2026.
  • Concluding the scope 1, 2 and 3 CO₂ assessment of the Group.
  • Pro‑active internal and external promotion of the Group’s sustainable cocoa program ‘Transparence Cacao’.
  • Contribute to Group sustainability topics and periodical reporting to Group level with requested updates.
  • Monitoring & evaluation: Collect, analyse and validate sustainability data for internal and external reporting.
  • Assisting with internal and external sustainability related communication.
  • Taking a collaborative, connecting and active role within our organization.
  • Fluency in German and English is a must; additional languages such as French are an advantage.
  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. sustainability, environment).
  • Experience in a similar or relevant role within the food/commodity industry is preferred, but we are open for a young graduate with an affinity for sustainability topics such as environment, due diligence, human rights.
  • Technical skills (data management and analysis) combined with strong functional skills (communication and project management).
  • Knowledge and experience with the implementation of national and international regulations related to sustainability, due diligence and/or climate.
  • A pragmatic personality with broad interest, high sense of ownership, entrepreneurial work ethic, hands‑on mentality, excellent interpersonal skills and flexible, solution‑driven mindset.
  • Structured working style, enjoying both independent and team work.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of our organisation, both verbal and written.
