System Administrator

Our integrated price comparison guides users to the most affordable shops for their desired product. As a (Junior) System Administrator, you help ensure that our platform runs smoothly and reliably every day.

Tasks

• Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of our Linux-based server infrastructure and work with cloud solutions like AWS
• Use Ansible to automate recurring tasks and configuration management
• Manage and optimize MySQL databases (backups, simple queries, performance checks)
• Assist in deploying applications and services in collaboration with our development and data teams
• Contribute to system monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability
• Help improve security and hardening of systems (updates, permissions, basic compliance)
• Work closely with Data Science and Engineering to support data pipelines and internal tools

Requirements

• Basic knowledge in Linux system administration (e.g. Debian/Ubuntu, shell, system services)
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs)
• First practical experience with Ansible (e.g. playbooks, roles, inventories)
• First practical experience with MySQL databases
• Experience with or interest in Python, especially in the context of Data Science (e.g. Pandas, simple scripts, data processing)
• Ideally some experience with additional tools such as Docker, Git, or monitoring solutions (e.g. NewRelic, Grafana)
• You work independently, reliably, and enjoy solving technical problems
• You have good spoken and written knowledge of German and English
