For their interdepartmental user support and the further development of the institute’s IT services, the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems is looking for aSystem Administrator with a focus on support (f/m/div)

The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS) seeks to advance intelligent systemsthat perceive, learn, and interact through fundamental research across computational, physical, and social dimensions. We shape artificial intelligence and robotics to advanceknowledge and benefit society. The institute takes a highly interdisciplinary approach that combines mathematics, computation, engineering, materials science, and biology.

Your role

Your tasks include:

• Administration and maintenance ofworkstation and lab systems (Linux, macOS, Windows)
• Participation in IT projects of the institute (e.g., services, license management, monitoring)
• Administration of user accounts
• 1st level support for scientists
• Support of videoconferencing systems

Your profile

• You are an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker/in, Informationselektroniker/in, IT-Systemelektroniker/in) or have an equivalent qualification in the described field of activity
• You have experience or interest in one or more of the following: Linux, macOS, Windows, Ansible, networking, video conferencing, or audiovisual equipment
• You are a comfortable command line user with an interest in developing your skills
• You work largely independently
• You enjoy collaborating and supporting colleagues proactively and with a solution-oriented mindset
• You have good command of English

The position will be located in the Tübingen of the Max Planck Institute of Intelligent Systemsas part of the IT service group. Salaries and contracts will be based on previous experience according to the Public Service Wage Agreement (TVöD) guidelines. This is a full-time position. The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of a transition into a permanent position.
