Systems / Robotics Engineering Intern (m/f/d)

About Us

We are a Berlin-based defense deep-tech startup developing mission-critical systems for defense against drones, missiles, and other airborne threats.

Our team builds real‑world systems that combine hardware, software and sensing, designed to operate reliably in complex and demanding environments.

As an early-stage company operating in stealth mode, we place strong emphasis on technical excellence, ownership and rapid iteration. You will have the opportunity to contribute to real systems and gain insight into architecture, development, integration and testing.

Role Overview

As a Systems / Robotics Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our team over an extended period and take ownership of a clearly defined project or work package.

Depending on your profile, the focus may include software‑adjacent development, system integration, sensing, test & validation, simulation or technical analysis.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture and further development of individual system components
  • Support the development of modules for data acquisition, processing, control or communication
  • Integrate and evaluate sensors, actuators and other subsystems
  • Conduct and analyse tests, benchmarks and experimental series
  • Support optimisation of runtime performance, robustness and system reliability
  • Document results and derive concrete improvement proposals

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interest in robotics, embedded or system‑level software, real‑time systems, sensing or complex technical systems
  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or a related field
  • Structured, independent and reliable working style
  • Ability and motivation to quickly learn new technical topics
  • Enjoy working hands‑on at the interface of software and hardware
  • Good German and/or English language skills
  • Initial academic, practical or personal projects in a technical domain
  • Interest in working on real‑world systems rather than purely theoretical problems

What We Offer

  • Paid internship with real responsibility rather than purely supportive tasks
  • Work on concrete technical challenges with direct relevance to real systems
  • Close mentoring and a steep learning curve
  • Opportunity to continue as a working student or through a thesis after the internship

Who You Are

  • Curious and technically driven: You enjoy working on complex, real‑world systems
  • Hands‑on: You like bridging software and hardware in practical applications
  • Ownership‑driven: You take responsibility for your tasks and push them forward
  • Fast learner: You quickly adapt to new topics and challenges
  • Collaborative: You enjoy working closely with a technical team across disciplines
