Roles & Responsibilities

• Leadership and development of a dedicated team of approximately 8 employees in the field of Electrical Engineering & Software for CO₂ lasers and systems
• Active advancement of team competencies through coaching, mentoring, and further training
• Responsibility for the integration and further development of:
  • Power distribution systems and customer-specific interfaces
  • Functional safety in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., EN ISO 13849)
  • Control hardware and microcontroller-based systems including their firmware (C++, C#)
  • Industrial control systems and communication interfaces
• Collaboration within the Coherent Group, e.g., through coordination with international development teams and the integration of global best practices into local implementation

About You

• Degree in engineering (electronics / electrical engineering, high-frequency engineering) or comparable studies
• Experience in developing electrical systems – ideally in the field of high-power laser systems or special-purpose machinery
• Leadership experience in technical teams – empathetic, decisive, and with a clear sense of priorities
• Solid knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations
• A structured, solution-oriented mindset and strong commitment to quality
• Fluency in German (spoken and written) and good command of English for international collaboration
