Overview

The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s text-to-speech products help users turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio to read faster, read more, and remember more. Our products include the iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and Web app. Speechify has been recognized by Google as Chrome Extension of the Year and by Apple as App of the Day. We operate in a 100% distributed environment with a global team that includes frontend and backend engineers, AI researchers, and others from major tech companies and startups.

This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, is passionate about making product decisions, and has experience delivering user experiences that delight users. We are a flat organization that values technical excellence, delivery, strong communication, and a winning mindset.

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within one week.

What You’ll Do

• Actively ship production code to the web products
• Work closely with your dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
• Have the opportunity to work on new and exciting features that will impact millions of users

• Experience: You've built and shipped products that have scaled to thousands or millions of users
• Customer obsession: You are passionate about the field and have the desire to build high-quality products that serve customer needs
• Speed: You work quickly to generate ideas and know how to decide what can ship now and what needs more time
• Focus: You thrive in a high-growth startup with remote collaboration and know when to engage or be heads-down
• Collaboration: You inspire, negotiate with, and align with designers, marketers, and PMs
• Tech Stack: Vanilla JS, ReactJS, Redux, Firebase, Typescript
