Join to apply for the Technical Content Manager & Editor (m/f/d) role at Software & Support Media
The Software and Support Media Group is one of the leading providers of knowledge transfer and professional development in the technology and software engineering sector. With over 15 international brands, numerous conferences, training events, and digital learning platforms, we offer software professionals worldwide practical, hands‑on expertise.
Your mission
As a Technical Content Manager & Editor, you’ll be at the core of our content operations — helping us connect expert knowledge with our learning community and shaping how software professionals learn on our platform.
How we work
We’re a team that evolves continuously — refining our workflows, experimenting with AI, exploring new content formats and improving our platform step by step. You’ll join an environment that values curiosity, shared ownership and honest communication.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Curation: Work closely with our international network of developers, software architects and tech leaders. You’ll help turn their insights into clear, valuable content and learn how to refine complex ideas into accessible, action‑oriented learning materials.
- Platform Management: Help shape how users discover and experience content on our learning platform. You’ll contribute to content structure, clarity and freshness — and support ongoing improvements to the overall user experience.
- Event Support: Prepare and refine content for workshops, conferences and live online sessions. You’ll help experts deliver high‑value learning experiences in both on‑site and virtual environments.
- Community Growth: Acquire new authors and speakers, brief contributors and maintain strong, long‑term expert relationships.
- Multi‑Format Content & Orchestration: Explore and develop content across formats — articles, videos, learning modules, live video sessions and more. You’ll help orchestrate these formats into coherent, user‑centered learning experiences.
- AI‑Assisted Editorial Work: Use AI tools thoughtfully to support research, structuring, editing and quality checks. Curiosity and openness to new workflows are what matter most.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work alongside product, video, analytics and marketing colleagues. You’ll contribute ideas, exchange knowledge and help ensure content aligns with learning needs and platform goals.
Qualifications
- Education: A degree in journalism, media studies, communications, linguistics, computer science, software engineering or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: Hands‑on experience in editorial work, content creation or technical communication, ideally in a software or technology context.
- Language Skills: Excellent English (native or near‑native level). English is our working language. German is a plus but not required.
- AI & Digital Fluency: Comfortable using digital tools and curious about exploring AI to enhance editorial workflows. Experience with CMS platforms is helpful but not essential.
- Users & Search: Basic understanding of how users search for content and how search intent informs structure and clarity.
- Teamwork & Ownership: Enjoy working in cross‑functional teams, communicate openly and handle feedback constructively. Take ownership of your work, experiment with new approaches and believe in continuous improvement.
