Responsibilities
- Perform essential maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure, including server rack installation and hardware break-fix on various components.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring optimal connectivity and performance.
- Act as the primary technical contact for internal stakeholders (e.g., network engineers, systems engineers, software developers) and external service partners (e.g., cloud providers, hardware vendors).
- Respond swiftly to emergent situations that impact operational stability, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
- Manage and resolve assigned trouble tickets efficiently, adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs) and directed workflows.
- Provide dedicated supervision to partner cloud providers and external vendors, ensuring adherence to operational standards.
- Participate in a 24x7 shift rotation (including mornings, late shifts, nights, and weekends) and an on-call rotation to address off-duty emergency calls.
- Execute scheduled maintenance and change management activities, monitoring infrastructure performance and integrity.
- Adhere strictly to safety and security policies and procedures within the team and data center environment.
- Handle physical tasks including lifting and racking equipment up to 20kg, and working in confined or elevated spaces while observing health and safety guidelines.
What You'll Bring (Must-Have Qualifications)
- Foundational knowledge of computer hardware components, network hardware components, and operating systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience managing work priorities and resolving issues through a ticketing system, coordinating effectively with leads and managers.
- Proficiency with common office productivity applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively as a team player.
- Ability to work 40 hours/week, including overtime as required, and accommodate 10-hour shifts as needed.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
What Will Set You Apart (Nice-to-Have Qualifications)
- A technical degree or certifications in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Familiarity with server hardware troubleshooting, network hardware troubleshooting, and the Linux operating system.
- Understanding of data center operations best practices, including inventory management, hot/cold aisle containment, and physical security protocols.
- Knowledge of data center safety and security best practices.
