Technical Team Lead Python Engineering (mfx)

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of dedicated Python backend engineers empowering quant development tech units to deliver services beyond what competitors can imagine.
• Design and build new platforms for our customers using cutting-edge technology and modern software practices such as agile teams test automation and cloud-based infrastructure. Remain open to replacing your system when a better alternative emerges.
• Drive legacy systems forward remembering that every service here has been rewritten multiple times - reflecting our commitment to progress not complacency. Our legacy is about leaving a meaningful mark not tech debt.
• Select tools for storing processing and visualizing large and evolving datasets from diverse sources - we are a data-centric team that treats data with respect.
• Write clean testable and maintainable code and treat clarity as a first class citizen.
• Prioritize tangible business results and maintain a business-first approach in all engineering decisions.
• Promote teamwork open communication and knowledge sharing among colleagues.
• Create the next generation wealth management and brokerage services for everybody.
• Tech stack: Python DevOps Docker CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as a Code (Terraform) AWS services such as Lambda SQS SNS ECS Step Functions Aurora DynamoDB Glue Athena and event-based asynchronous architectures.

Qualifications

• Several years of previous work experience in Python backend development (mandatory)
• Leadership experience - culture matters more than tenure
• Hands-on experience with AWS services
• Industry experience with Docker Git and RESTful API
• Excellent knowledge in data-driven business applications
• Excellent communication skills (in English) that are clear concise and tailored to your audience - engineering product or other stakeholders
• Proactive collaborative and easy-going working style good time management fair play
