We are looking for a Temperature Logistics Expert (x|f|m) for the Global Freight & Logistics Procurement division at Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH. In this role, you will shape and steer the design, development, validation and monitoring of temperature-controlled logistics processes for temperature-sensitive products in the biopharma and laboratory equipment sectors. You will act as a central point of contact for questions related to temperature-controlled transport and ensure product integrity along the entire supply chain – in compliance with GDP and GxP specifications. The focus is on continuously developing robust, efficient and future-proof logistics concepts in the balance between compliance, product safety and cost efficiency.
This position will be filled on a full-time basis. It is a hybrid role requiring some on-site days at our headquarters in Goettingen with the opportunity to work remotely on other days.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end strategies for temperature-controlled transports (2-8°C, -20°C, -80°C, CRT), tailored to product-specific regulatory requirements
- Select, qualify and validate temperature-controlled packaging, monitoring and transport solutions, considering all requirements and costs
- Design differentiated logistics concepts for regulated and non-regulated products to balance quality assurance and cost efficiency
- Plan, execute and document validations of temperature-controlled transport systems
- Conduct risk analyses for transport routes and perform thermal tests to ensure compliance with product-specific stability requirements
- Implement temperature monitoring and real-time tracking systems
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with GDP, GMP and other applicable regulations
- Provide technical training to logistics partners on handling and monitoring the cold chain
- Contribute to business continuity and emergency concepts for temperature-sensitive shipments
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in temperature-controlled logistics, preferably in the biopharma or healthcare sector
- Proven track record in validation and qualification of cold chain packaging, storage, transportation, and temperature monitoring systems
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (GDP, GxP, IATA, WHO TRS)
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision making
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages beneficial), German preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment
- Detail-oriented with a high sense of responsibility and compliance mindset
- Ability to travel as needed
