Test Automation Engineer (Contract)

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced freelance QA Automation Engineer to support a client project focused on end-to-end quality across mobile, API, performance, and accessibility testing. You’ll work in a modern TypeScript-based automation stack and CI/CD‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile automation tests using Appium, WebdriverIO, and Cucumber (TypeScript)
• Execute cross-device testing on BrowserStack, integrated with GitHub Actions
• Build and maintain API integration tests using Supertest and Cucumber (TypeScript) within Azure DevOps pipelines
• Perform load testing using k6 and analyze performance results
• Conduct accessibility testing via BrowserStack
• Support manual verification where needed to ensure release quality

Requirements

• Proven experience as a freelance/contract QA engineer
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Appium, WebdriverIO, Cucumber, and TypeScript
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps)
• Solid understanding of API testing (Supertest or similar)
• Experience with performance testing tools (k6 preferred)
• Familiarity with cross-browser/device testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack)
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across distributed teams
• Available to start immediately

Nice to Have

• Experience with accessibility standards and testing practices
• Strong debugging and test optimization skills
