Test Engineer - Aerospace Hardware (m/f/d)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The What:Asa Test Engineer at Blackwave, you will develop and provide test methods and test benches for our aerospace components. You will plan, conceptualize, and execute test campaigns, ensuring reliable data generation and structured documentation throughout the entire testing process.

The Why:At Blackwave, testing is essential to validate performance, reliability, and safety of our technologies. Your role is critical in bringing a fresh engineering perspective into new projects, developing innovative test approaches, and strengthening our capabilities.

Important Note: This role is focused on Quality Assurance of our hardware (COPVs). We are not currently hiring for Software Quality Assurance positions

YOUR MISSION

• Provide Test Infrastructure:Develop and technically provision test methods and test benches to support product validation.
• Plan and Execute Test Campaigns:Conceptualize, prepare, and implement structured test campaigns in alignment with project requirements.
• Document with Precision:Prepare comprehensive test reports and ensure clear, traceable documentation of all activities.
• Evaluate Measurement Data:Analyze and assess measurement results, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and meaningful interpretation.
• Drive Engineering Solutions: Approach testing challenges with curiosity and initiative, contributing actively to problem-solving across projects.
• Collaborate On-Site:Work closely with interdisciplinary teams in an on-site environment to ensure efficient test execution and knowledge exchange.

YOUR PROFILE

• Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: First professional experience in engineering positions in testing or development environments.
• Leadership: Ability to take ownership of technical topics and proactively drive tasks forward in a structured manner.
• Hard Skills: Solid understanding of test methodologies, experimental setup, and engineering-based problem solving.

• Soft Skills: Curious, motivated, and hands-on mindset with a strong willingness to learn and grow in an engineering environment.
• Languages: Fluent in English; German is a nice to have for on-site collaboration.
