As a Travel Manager (f/m/d), you will become part of our global SCM PI team in Munich and contribute to the strategic development of our travel management. You combine end-to-end process expertise, governance know-how, and strong data and technology competence, along with a clear understanding of how operational travel processes are delivered by external service providers – without being operationally involved yourself.

You’ll create impact by

  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving the travel strategy, governance and standards to ensure alignment across regions and processes.
  • Analyzing and optimizing end-to-end travel processes including policy, booking, service delivery and reporting for greater efficiency and quality.
  • Strategically managing external travel service providers (e.g., TMCs, booking platforms) with a strong focus on operational excellence and collaboration.
  • Defining and leveraging KPIs and steering metrics (e.g., compliance, process quality, cost insights) to enable robust, data-driven decision-making.
  • Using data and reporting tools to identify optimization, standardization and control opportunities across travel policies and operations.
  • Shaping the evolution of Siemens’ travel technology landscape with a focus on automation, advanced analytics, tools, interfaces and data flows.
  • Collaborating with internal teams such as Global Procurement, Finance, P&O and IT, as well as international stakeholders, to align priorities and ensure seamless execution.

  • Education
  • A master’s degree, preferably in Procurement, Business Management, Hospitality or a comparable field.
  • Experience & Skills
  • Extensive professional experience in travel management, strategic procurement or within the travel service provider environment.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business travel processes and operational workflows at service providers (e.g., TMCs, booking systems).
  • Proven ability to work with data, KPIs and reports to steer processes and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Interest and expertise in integrating new technologies and digital advancements into the travel domain.
  • Analytical and structured working style with strong collaboration skills in cross-functional and international setups.
