About us

Do you want to make a difference in the Heilbronn AI and innovation ecosystem and far beyond Then become our new Operations Manager (f / m / x) of TUMs Software & AI Venture Lab the nucleus for deep-tech startups at TUM in the field of AI. As part of the interdisciplinary TUM Venture Labs you will build first-class support for scientists & scalable commercially successful spin-off teams in Heilbronns most important innovation center. The goal of the Software / AI Venture Lab in Heilbronn is to establish a strong ecosystem in which emerging spin-offs are supported from the early discovery phase to founding and first external investments.

Your mission

Lead AI infrastructure development - you set up and manage access to high-quality GPU resources for scientists and science-based startups ensuring technical excellence and compliance with non-profit requirements.
Expand technical offerings - you expand software discounts for advanced AI tools (e.g. MLOps and CI / CD platforms) and define development best practices enabling science-driven startups to build robust tech stacks with it.
Teamwork - together with science and start-up managers you derive requirements for infrastructure and resources from the needs of our target group.
Optimize environments - you oversee and continuously improve co-working and physical lab environments for students scientists and science-based startups.
Strategize - you contribute to the further development of AI infrastructure offerings for other TUM Venture Labs (e.g. Healthcare Robotics Mobility) with your expertise and experience.
Support - you support the technical development of the Software / AI & Deep Tech Start-Ups in our network with your expertise.

Your profile

You have in-depth knowledge in one of the fields of computer science mathematics software engineering data science machine learning artificial intelligence or related fields.
You have gained initial professional experience in AI infrastructure cloud platforms software engineering or technical operations - experience in start-ups and small engineering teams is very welcome.
You have a strong interest in setting up and maintaining operational structures for AI infrastructure co-working and lab environments ensuring they meet the technical and collaborative needs of students scientists and startups.
You are motivated to learn about the needs of students scientists and start-ups and integrate them into infrastructure and resource offerings.
You are a proactive entrepreneurial thinker and doer with the will to actively shape your environment.
You have a very good command of written and spoken German and English.
Experienced start-up founders from the fields of software AI hardware or related areas are very welcome and particularly appreciated.
