At BARFERS Wellfood we develop and produce premium dog and cat food based on the BARF principle (Biologically Appropriate Raw Feeding).

In our own Berlin‑based manufactory we create over 280 products which we sell through our online shop , eight stores in Berlin Potsdam and Hamburg as well as through selected B2B partners .

We are revolutionizing the pet food industry our mission is to ensure that every dog and cat is fed in a species‑appropriate way !

Aufgaben

We’re looking for a Mid‑Senior UI/UX Designer who’s passionate about creating intuitive beautiful and high‑performing digital experiences. You’ll take ownership of the design process from discovery to delivery shaping how customers interact with our brand across web mobile subscription and BARF Calculator touchpoints.

In this role you will own the end‑to‑end design process from user research and wireframes to high‑fidelity prototypes and design systems ensuring our products are not only beautiful but also easy and delightful to use.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineers the data team marketing and customer support to transform insights and ideas into user‑centered solutions. At the beginning you will report directly to the CTO and work cross‑functionally to establish the foundation for BARFERS digital design culture.

Key Responsibilities

Design Ownership: Lead the end‑to‑end UI/UX process from research wireframes and prototypes to final polished interfaces.
Product Development Partnership: Collaborate closely with engineering and data teams to design, test and ship impactful features that improve user experience and drive measurable business outcomes.
User Research & Testing: Conduct interviews usability tests and analyze feedback to continuously improve the user journey.
Interface Design: Create pixel‑perfect responsive designs for web and mobile platforms that reflect our brand and product vision.
Design System: Establish and maintain a scalable design system to ensure visual and functional consistency across all digital products .
Data‑Informed Design: Use behavioral data analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine the customer journey and optimize conversions retention and satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement: Identify usability issues propose enhancements and stay ahead of design and UX trends.

Qualifikation

47 years of experience in UI/UX design ideally in eCommerce SaaS or D2C product environments.
A strong diverse portfolio demonstrating user‑centered digital design processes and tangible product outcomes.
Expert‑level Figma skills (we love Figma from auto layout to components and shared libraries).
Strong understanding of design systems accessibility and responsive design principles.
Solid experience with product development processes from discovery and validation to iterative design and delivery in agile teams.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and data teams to translate user and business needs into product features.
Experience with user research testing and analytics‑informed design decisions.
Familiarity with front‑end development concepts.
Strong communication and storytelling skills you can clearly articulate design decisions and their impact.
Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Nice to Have

Interest in pets or the pet care industry.
Motion design or micro‑interaction skills.
